next is David Bowie... but i need to finish this book on the Knights Templar that I started

i have read a few over the years ...

led zeppelin - hammer of the gods & stairway to heaven
elvis costello
bill graham ... and the selling of rock (the notorious concert promoter)
neil young - shakey
sting - broken music

... it takes quite a bit for me to really dive into any biography .... i find many to be pretty slanted in their approach.

I LOVE 'em when I can find the time to sit down and read 'em! Over the years I've read:

Led Zeppelin
KISS
Ace Frehley
David Lee Roth
Aerosmith
Marilyn Manson
Prince
Alice Cooper
...

I need to get back into a HUGE Elton Bio I started and put down a while ago!

Which David Bowie one did you read? i have Loving the Alien but havent started it yet

I think it was called Stardust! I would Love to read it again! BUT, it was about 20 years ago and I lent it to a work friend who got fired a little bit later and I never saw him or my book again!

I have read so many of them, and the book that exact 33 is talking about is called 'Star Dust' excellent book !

Also have read books about the Doors, Alice Cooper, AC/DC. and so many others, and there are still alot of rock bios that I have not yet read.

I think he is correct on the title as well! I wish I still had that book! I was just looking at a Bowie Bio at Borders this weekend, I think I will eventually get it! I do not recall the name at the moment!

Stephen Davis bio's are hit or miss, it turns out that 'Hammer of the Gods' is suppose to be pretty accurate, but the Guns n Roses bio is filled with errors and the Jim Morrison bio makes a few statements that also happen to not to be facts.

That David Bowie 'Stardust' is an excellent bio and I will be re-reading eventually since it has been several years since I have read it.

Theres a new Bowie bio coming out Im gonna want it, Loving the Alien is my next read after I finish this book the Knights Templar

I saw a new Bowie bio at Borders recently! I don't remember the name but I want it!!!

i am currently reading a book on bruce springsteen called listening to bruce springsteen: runaway american dream. it isn't really a biography so much as an analysis of the man through his lyrics. it is an interesting angle to take on a guy like the boss.

I am currently ( and almost finished) Off the Rails:A Tribute to Randy Rhoads by Rudy Sarzo

Excellent book on the short lived Ozzy Osbourne's first solo tours with Randy Rhoads, well written and Sarzo humanizes Randy Rhoads and even Ozzy and Sharon.

still reading my bruce springsteen book but my buddy lent me his brian vollmer (singer of helix) autobiography called gimme an R!. i have been flipping through it and it is mostly comprised of short anecdotes and interesting stories from the road. should be an enjoyable read ...

I just started reading Ray Davies book 'X Ray' by Ray Davies, definitley a very different type of autobiography, where he creates a ficitonal charater to take on a journey of Davies life with the Kinks.
