| David is an artist that never stood still! Shape-shifting from one style and sound to another often ahead of his own time! He so affected music of differant styles that hardly no one doesn't either like one of his eras or love a style or genre spawned from his influence! Glam, Punk, Blue-Eyed Soul, New Wave, Goth and so much more all emergerged from the chamelion's followers!
Oh! And I like him too! HAHA!

| I thought everything he released in the last 10- 12 years is amongst his best work ever! Amazing after all this time to still release interesting, compelling music with a nod to the past and an eye to the future!
I really hope he releases a new album this year!!!

| As Addy spends a day with his wife I thought it was a fitting time to talk about significant others!
Specifically Bowie's musical significant others! Not only did David pave new musical ground but in doing so he discovered many amazing talents! Here are a few of the top of my head:
Mick Ronson - Original Spiders guitarist, he shaped the way for many flashy glam rock guitarists! Mick also recorded with Lou Reed, Elton John and Ian Hunter as well as a solo carreer!
Trevor Boulder - Original Spiders bassist is a long running member of Uriah Heep!
Carlos Alomar - David's longest running guitarist, although predomanatly a rythm guitarist he also co-wrote many Bowie songs, hits and other! He has been with david on and off (mostly on) from Diamond Dogs to the present! He is also a well sought after session player and has been on 100's of recordins!
Luther Vandross - The R&B legend was originally David Bowie background vocalist on the Young Americans album and Tour!
Brian Eno - Loops, etc...! Brian invented electronica! Before the "Berlin Trilogy" Brian was a member of Roxy Music and has since been a well known Ambient artist and Producer!!!
Adrian Belew - Eno and Bowie found this eclectic talent and utilized his inventive playing style over 5 albums! Adrian also played with Frank Zappa and after meeting Robert Fripp during sessions with David joined King Crimson as Guitarist and Vocalist!
Stevie Ray Vaughan - Before Double Trouble ever released an album Stevie Ray played guitar on Let's Dance!
Reeves Gabrels - Tin Machine guitarist continued to work with David after he resumed his solo carreer! Reeves has recorded several solo album and has contributed with Sister Machine Gun as well as session work!

| Yep! Well those were all band members! Iggy was never in his band but David did Tour as part of Iggy's band and they co-wrote many songs together! And Iggy did background vocals on several albums and David played virtually everything but drums at one point or another on Iggy's albums! So, Yeah! He certainly qualifies!!! | |

| David Bowie - VH1 Storytellers CD/DVD and Digital version Released: 6th July 2009 - EMI
VH1 Storytellers began in 1996 with intimate TV performances by Ray Davies and Elvis Costello. Over the next few years many singer/songwriters appeared on the show, performing in front of a live audience while telling stories of their music and memories. From Garth Brooks to Smashing Pumpkins, many of the most memorable episodes featured British rock acts, and David Bowie appeared on the show on August 23rd 1999.
Bill Flanagan, Executive Producer of the show explains, "We were used to dealing with legendary musicians. Still, landing David Bowie was more than a big booking. There's no way to say this without being corny: it was an honour. Bowie has a unique place in rock & roll. He is not only one of the most influential musicians of the era, he does nothing unless he is fully committed. He never phones it in."
CD: 01 Life On Mars? 02 Rebel Rebel (truncated) 03 Thursday's Child 04 Can't Help Thinking About Me 05 China Girl 06 Seven 07 Drive-In Saturday 08 Word On A Wing
DVD: 01 Life On Mars? 02 Rebel Rebel (truncated) 03 Thursday's Child 04 Can't Help Thinking About Me 05 China Girl 06 Seven 07 Drive-In Saturday 08 Word On A Wing
DVD bonus performances: 09 Survive 10 I Can't Read 11 Always Crashing In The Same Car 12 If I'm Dreaming My Life
Digital audio version: 01 Life On Mars? 02 Rebel Rebel (truncated) 03 Thursday's Child 04 Can't Help Thinking About Me 05 China Girl 06 Seven 07 Drive-In Saturday 08 Word On A Wing
Digital audio bonus performances: 09 Survive 10 I Can't Read 11 Always Crashing In The Same Car 12 If I'm Dreaming My Life
He continues, "Bowie's STORYTELLERS was a unique theatrical event, a sort of off-Broadway "Evening with the Artist" in which a great songwriter used bits and pieces from his life and career to show us all the roads leading up to a single moment, a complement to his current album but also a performance strong enough to stand on its own: a compelling introduction to David Bowie for the uninitiated and a fresh experience for the long time fan.
It was a highlight of the series and a good lesson to those of us behind the camera who sometimes think the artist needs our help. When dealing with an artist of the stature of David Bowie, we can help best by getting out of his way."
