I spent it in CT I drove up and back and I just got home this morning I will never EVER want to make that drive again as long as I live

How long did it take?

20 plus hours i drove through the night and by myself if i had a friend or someone with me it probably wouldnt have been bad

Im still car lagged

Wow drove to florida a few times but always with someone...

I seem to do things alone now mostly

I go back up in 3 weeks for Christmas but ill be flying

I hate the feeling of being alone even though i know im not

I actually usually prefer being alone. You can do anything you want, any time you want without having to consult with another person.

Now that I think about it, I guess that's called "being selfish". But screw it, it's the way I prefer to live my life.

I do miss having any "me" time but I would be lost without my family! Thankfully we all give each other free space, as well as constant company! HAHA! And we are all NUTS!!!

I guess that's where you and I are so different Addy.

If I didn't need mechanics, doctors or other people who do things I can't do for myself, I could happily live in a world populated by only me and animals.

Mine is definitely the more warped worldview however...at least I recognize that...

right now I dont trust myself to be alone.... Ive found out tonight that its over

too much time alone for me my mind goes to darker places at least lately ive been so out of whack the last several months I vaguely remember how it was to feel normal for me or even remotely happy.....

Now a days I dont even want to get out of bed and each day I stay in bed just a bit longer.....

No offense intended bro, but if that's really how you're feeling, I think you should seek counseling. No shame in it; hell, my brother is a therapist.

But if being alone starts sending you to "dark places", I'd think you should seek help to get through it.

And you CAN get through it...

And if you want to talk, I'lll PM you my phone number but be advised, between 8 pm and 4 am I probably won't hear it (I sleep with earplugs).

I also recognize that this time of year just makes it worse for families who are having internal issue. The holidays just magnify any family issues. Maybe it will be more manageable once the holidays are over.

Im not offended and I have researched counciling for both me and my wife on our marriage but I have a feeling if i pursue it, it'll be just me. She's always telling me that shes not emotional but "logical" Im the emotional one but without that emotion I wouldnt have passion or wouldnt be able to be creative, its a big part of who I am. Sometimes it's a curse cuz its not something i can just turn off.

when I say Dark Places I dont mean suicide or anything that extreme, I cant quite explain it, at least right now. Id like to think that maybe its the holidays but I dont think it is. I think part of it is she just doesnt want to invest in a relationship with me, I mean afterall she says she wants to be friends but i gotta say how in monkey hell can we do that if we dont even fully act like friends now? She barely talks to me and if i try to talk to her its really short, most of our communication is done via email or texting, which lets me express myself better but its a sad state. Not to meniton i feel so very lonely, Its sad Im married and Im lonely, Im glad Im going to CT for the holidays, maybe CT is where I belong and God let this happen to get it out of my system......

I think Im going to bed

I dont have anything constructive to add , just that I feel horrible for you Addy . Christmas time should be a joyous time and your sad....Im really sorry bro .

Thanks bro It's a battle each day especially when everyones home cuz I feel like an outsider I feel like its no longer my family here, i am a see saw I was in a good mindset last night and today Im fighting off tears

I am really looking forward to spending a week with my family for Christmas
